Preschool children attending a childhood program spend many of their early childhood hours there. It is essential that safety and love are at the core of any program. I believe that the physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and creative development of a child are interconnected and need to be supported through play, guidance, and love. I believe in the infinite possibilities that children can manifest when a childhood teacher understands that children love to learn by
exploring, using their five senses, everything that is in their world through their play. By asking committed teachers in music, dance, art, and various languages to visit my program once a week, works both sides of he child's brain and helps connect new learning. I believe that parents are important, and it is important to understand the mixture of backgrounds and culture that is brought to the program through the children. Finally, I believe that knowledge learned in early childhood curriculum is essential for a childhood provider in order to understand and create a more progressive program.
Grandmas's house is a registered childhood care program that takes care of children ages 6 weeks to eight years old. It is open Monday through Friday, from six o'clock to five thirty in the evening. The reason we need a place downtown was to have a clearing house for the preschools in order for people to find out about the various childhood providers who are certified and registered preschool/family care.
