Harmony Roadhouse Music Studios began in 2000 as a piano school, and has developed into a dynamic collective of musicians and instructors. In addition to offering private instruction in a variety of instruments and styles, hosting rehearsals and house concerts for local and international musicians, we offer group lessons and workshops. Several instructors are expanding into the realm of summer camps, planning to offer summer workshops for children in beginning guitar and piano, music theory, songwriting, and music history.
As a co-director, I encourage and support these various activities. However, being a simple collective organization, our instructors and renters dues only cover basic operational expenses. If we had a local resource that offered some assistance in any form, be it funding for advertising, a space to meet, or a network to work with, we could more easily organize and promote these summer camps to benefit more community members. If we had some kind of assistance, certain teachers in our collective would certainly take the chance of organizing and promoting these camps and activities, which definitely have a place in this community.
