I see an architecture that follows the overall theme of a dome, but that has enough interesting and comforting recti-linearity to the surface as to not present a smooth unyielding face to passers-by.
For what we can see from an aesthetic standpoint as the beauty of a perfect dome does provide a more forbidding aspect to many up close. On the other hand, having floors that inset progressively in an overall dome shape, with green terraces on each setback, would create an overall dome shape, and be very green. This would also, in a sense, connect us with many primeval cultures, including the Mayan. We will probably be a bit steeper and our terraces narrower than a Mayan pyramid, since the space calls for a taller building relative to its base area.
