I am so proud ofour new library. I would love to have a wonderful community center right across the street! This center would be a meeting place for artists, musicians, actors and community volunteers. In my vision it would contain a three hundred-seat theatre, with rehearsal space. This small theatre would be used primarily for children's theatre, but would also be available for other groups. Acting groups, dance groups and musicians would have a space for their recitals and performances. The community could use the theatre for meetings and presentations. It would also have rooms for creating art, with space for painting, drawing and working with clay. There would be space for children and families to create together. The Eugene Community Center would also have office space and meeting space for volunteer organizations. Organizations such as Committed Partners for Youth, A Family for Every Child, and CASA could be in a central location and inspire and collaborate with each other. I am primarily interested in finding adoptive home for waiting foster children. Sharing space with other organizations that care about foster children would increase our opportunities. I would also love to be able to offer drama, music and art to foster children. Other organizations that care about our world and it's future would also have offices and meet at the Eugene Community Center. People with interests in ecology and sustainability could mix with actors and artists! We would all share and learn from each other.
