PeaceDay.tv is the home of the United Nations Day of Peace Broadcast, an internet site featuring live-streamed and prerecorded events, information, conferences, celebrations and other content concerning peacemaking, conflict resolution, sustainability Millennium Development Goals, and more. The second annual broadcast was in September 2010 and we showcased events from around the globe during our five days of programming. In the process of gathering and producing content we have forged partnerships and alliances with dozens of prominent organizations in the world and are now in a unique position to continue to develop and offer media support and connectivity between these organizations and people the world over. The video player is embedded on more than 2,000 websites and continues to grow in viewership and support.


Requirements
- Interest in areas of peacekeeping, sustainability, human rights, and other socio-economic issues.
- Familiarity with internet broadcasting basics.
- Ability to update and develop pages using the website's content management system, including selection and basic formatting of graphics according to site design parameters.
- Familiarity with and how to effectively market using various social media outlets.
- Possess skills at initiating innovative ideas, unifying team members, and judging correctly what will appeal to target audiences.
- Prefer challenges that involve communication, are people-oriented, promote networking and socializing, and include roles that call for imagination.

Responsibilities

- Research, Identify, and contact organizations with potential content or interest in utilizing the PeaceDay Platform.
- Help to format informational articles and special features in the website's Peace Library.
- Schedule and format listings of upcoming broadcast events.
- Write effective copy, excelling in correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
- Use alternate forms of communication (including graphic arts), resulting in improved interactions.
- Edit and proof other team members work and provide constructive feedback
